Halstead's CO9 postcode covers the town itself and a run of villages around it, and the building stock changes as you go. We've recently designed a Victorian terrace conversion in the town, a wetroom for a returning customer's second bathroom, and a shower room tucked under the sloping ceiling of a period cottage in Gosfield — three different structural problems, three different answers.
The Gosfield shower room is the clearest example. It's a period cottage on The Street, with a sloping ceiling, a leaded window, and none of the square corners a bathroom designer would ask for. Rather than fight the shape, the design leaned into it: dark, glossy Ca' Pietra porcelain that makes the angles read as drama instead of awkwardness, with three backlit niches stacked into the one straight wall available.
In the town itself, the CO9 wetroom belonged to a family we'd already designed one bathroom for — a returning customer's second room, and by then we knew the house. Ca' Pietra Nero Magnifique bookmatched tiles line the walls and the infinity niche, with a linear waste keeping the floor flush and Calypso oak furniture warming up a room that could otherwise feel cold.

This is the second bathroom we designed for this Halstead family — after their traditional family bathroom conversion, they trusted us with their dream wetroom. Ca' Pietra Nero Magnifique bookmatched tiles line the walls and infinity niche, lit by warm IP67 recessed LEDs. A linear waste drain keeps the floor flush, while a half-height tiled wall with frameless glass defines the shower zone.
Calypso oak furniture and a custom bench add warmth, and Warmup underfloor heating keeps the tiles comfortable underfoot. Products came to £19,000–£21,000, and the room took four weeks to fit.
