The iconic Boat Bath features a distinctive curved hull-form design inspired by traditional boat building. Available in cast iron with over 100 RAL colours, or natural copper that develops a living patina. The ergonomic double-ended shape provides exceptional bathing comfort, making it BC Designs' signature piece since 2007.
BC Designs craft baths in three premium materials: Cast Iron (exceptional heat retention, lifetime durability), Acrymite® (reinforced acrylic composite, warm to touch, lightweight), and Copper/Brass (natural antimicrobial properties, unique living finish). Each material offers distinct benefits for different bathroom styles and budgets.
Cast iron baths can be finished in any RAL colour with options for polished, satin, or matte finishes. Copper baths develop a natural patina or can be lacquered for a polished look. Painted finishes include heritage colours like Stiffkey Blue, Down Pipe, and French Grey. BC Designs says its roll top baths are painted to order in its workshop in Colchester, Essex.
BC Designs brassware collections feature coordinated finishes including Brushed Brass, Chrome, Copper, Matt Black, and Nickel. The CHE, CTA, and CTB ranges include floor-mounted bath mixers, basin taps, and shower controls - all designed to complement BC Designs baths perfectly.
Natural copper and brass develop a beautiful living patina over time. Simply wipe with a soft cloth after bathing - no harsh chemicals needed. For polished finishes, apply beeswax occasionally. Lacquered finishes require only gentle cleaning. BC Designs provides detailed care instructions with every bath, and our team offers ongoing maintenance advice.
Yes, all BC Designs baths include a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty covering materials and craftsmanship. When you purchase through Bowman Bathrooms, you receive ongoing support from our design team — from ordering through to aftercare.
BC Designs' Acrymite® is a reinforced acrylic composite - stronger and more rigid than standard acrylic. It provides excellent heat retention (second only to cast iron), is lighter for easier installation, and offers a warmer feel than traditional materials. The reinforced construction ensures long-term shape retention and durability.
