Bowman Bathrooms is an independently-owned design and supply company, started by Jonathon Barclay in 2022. For Brentwood homes across CM13, CM14 and CM15 we design the bathroom, specify every product and supply it all, whether the room is a cloakroom or a full family bathroom. The nearest showroom is 942 London Road, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 3NF, around 19 miles from central Brentwood via the A127. Google rates us 4.8/5 across 88 reviews. Nothing is ordered until you have seen your room drawn in 3D and approved the specification in full. Recent rooms include a wetroom-style luxury bathroom in Brentwood CM13, a double-fixture family bathroom, also CM13 and a master ensuite in neighbouring Billericay CM11 — all shown further down this page.
Bowmans does not have a showroom in Brentwood itself; every Brentwood bathroom is designed and supplied from our Leigh-on-Sea showroom, straight down the A127.
At a glance
A note from the studio · 20 August 2026
Brentwood grew in rings around its station, and you can read those rings in its bathrooms. Close to the centre and out through Shenfield the houses are mostly 1930s: bay-fronted semis and detached homes built when a bathroom meant a bath, a basin and very little else. Head into Hutton and the estates jump forward forty years, with squarer rooms and pipework that is far easier to move. Then come the villages, Ingrave, Herongate, Doddinghurst and South Weald, where the housing is older, less regular, and no two rooms measure the same.
The 1930s homes set most of our briefs. The original bathroom usually sits above the kitchen, served by a soil stack bolted to the outside wall. Move the toilet far from that stack and the floor has to carry a new fall, so it helps us enormously to know where the stack sits before we start drawing. Tell us, or send a photo of that outside wall, and we plan the layout around it and choose tiles second. Get that order right and even a narrow 1930s room can carry a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath.
Hutton and the newer estates bring the opposite problem. The room itself is fine; the suite is simply tired, and the owner wants something that feels considered rather than picked from a catalogue. That is where fitted furniture, layered lighting and the scale of the tile do the heavy lifting.
We don't have a showroom in Brentwood, so what we offer instead is time. Every CM13, CM14 and CM15 bathroom begins the same way, with a proper listen: come down the A127 to Leigh-on-Sea if a morning out suits you, or simply get in touch from home. You are welcome to stand in front of a real bath, turn the taps and see the tiles in daylight, and there is never any rush to decide anything.
When you are ready, send us the measurements of your room. Our step-by-step measuring guide shows you exactly what to measure, and we'll email you a copy too. From those numbers we draw the room in 3D and set a fixed price beside every item. You see all of it, change whatever you like, and nothing at all is ordered until you are happy.

“In a 1930s Brentwood semi the soil stack sets the shape of the room. The pleasure of the job is designing around it so well that the room looks like it always wanted to be that way.”
Our Showroom
Follow the A127 and our Leigh-on-Sea showroom is around 19 miles from central Brentwood. It's where you stand inside a walk-in shower, lift a brushed-brass tap and see how onyx-effect porcelain reads in daylight before committing to any of it.
We don't run one in Brentwood itself, so every project starts with the short drive to Leigh-on-Sea. If you're comparing bathroom showrooms nearby, we'd argue ours is worth the A127 run: full room displays rather than a wall of single fixtures, working showers, and a designer giving you their actual time — book a visit and judge for yourself.

£6,000–£15,000+ for a full bathroom · products only
Our design service is free: the 3D visuals, the specification and the technical drawings. You only pay for the products you pick. A full Brentwood bathroom usually lands between £6,000 and £15,000 or more. The two CM13 projects on this page show the spread: the double-fixture family bathroom came to £7,000–£8,000 in products, the wetroom-and-bath scheme to £13,000–£15,000.
The design and the coordination come with the products, not on top of them.
Fitting is quoted by whoever builds the room, your own fitter or one from our Approved Fitter Network, because it depends on access, the state of the floor and how far the pipework has to move. We will give you an honest steer on that while we are designing.
For a room-by-room figure, use our Price Guide, or book a showroom visit and we'll price your actual room.
The first step costs you nothing but an hour of your time. It is a conversation, nothing more. Some people drive over to the Leigh-on-Sea showroom to see and handle the real products, others get in touch and talk it through from home, and both are equally welcome. The next thing we ask for is the size of the room. Measure it with our step-by-step guide and send the numbers through when you have them. We then draw the bathroom in 3D and attach a fixed price to the whole specification, and you approve that before a single thing is ordered. It works the same way in a bay-fronted 1930s semi near Shenfield as it does in the postwar homes further north toward Doddinghurst. Once you have approved it, we order and coordinate every product, and your fitter, your own tradesperson or one of the fitters in our Approved Fitter Network, is sent a full technical pack: product data, installation drawings and clearances. We're on hand for any product question, and when the room is finished the warranties are registered in your name.

Brentwood, CM13 · Family bathroom · Wetroom shower and freestanding bath · 2024
Maria's family wanted a bathroom in their Brentwood CM13 home that felt like a spa. We split the room into two zones: white onyx Ca' Pietra tiles in the dry area and blue onyx in the wetroom shower, with brushed brass trims running through both. A BC Designs Viado freestanding bath sits under the window with an Elisa floor-mounted filler, and the shower runs on an Elisa Intuition smart valve you can set by voice. Be Modern Atlanta fitted furniture in navy hides the cistern and the pipework, with a Roper Rhodes Presence mirrored cabinet above the basin and Crosswater glass on the wetroom.
Products came to £13,000–£15,000, toward the upper end of the £6,000–£15,000+ range for a full bathroom. Five weeks on site once the fitter started.

Maria Brame, Brentwood CM13 ★★★★★“I’ve waited a couple of weeks before posting this review as I wanted to make sure everything was good and I have to say that I still love our new bathroom as much today as the day it was handed over. The whole experience with Bowman’s from the moment we walked into the showroom to the final day of installation was exceptional.
Throughout the design stage Verity listened to our ideas and feedback and provided multiple design alterations until we had the perfect outcome. Our fitter, Stefan was superb! Overall, it’s the best piece of work we’ve ever had done in the house and couldn’t recommend Bowman’s highly enough.”

All of CM13, CM14 and CM15, from our Leigh-on-Sea showroom around 19 miles away via the A127. The design and supply service is the same street to street; what changes is the house. Here's what we tend to find.
Hutton runs from 1930s semis near the station to 1960s and 70s estates further out; Ingrave and Herongate are village stock along the A128 south-east of town. Both CM13 projects on this page sit in this postcode.
Bay-fronted 1930s semis around Shenfield, postwar semis and bungalows further north toward Doddinghurst and Kelvedon Hatch. The soil stack is nearly always on the outside wall and sets the layout.
Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the High Street and up Warley Hill, period houses out at South Weald and Brook Street. Narrow rooms, tall ceilings, and walls that were never built to hide a cistern.
Our neighbouring town, with its own page below. The CM11 master ensuite on this page is among the most ambitious rooms we have designed nearby.
Beyond these, we also cover Mountnessing, Kelvedon Hatch, Brook Street and nearby Ingatestone, just outside these postcodes.

“Just had our bathroom completed by Bowmans — really good service. The tiling looks great and Paul and the team returned the next day to fix any snags we found. They have been really helpful and being able to visit the showroom was a real plus.”
Emily Bright — Brentwood CM13
“So happy that we found Bowmans to create our dream bathroom. We really enjoyed the process of visiting the showroom, chatting through the design with Jonnie and Katie — who had some great ideas within our budget — seeing tiles, taps etc in person and then seeing the detailed designs before approval so we could be sure everything was how we wanted it.
The install process was also great, Paul did a wonderful meticulous job ensuring no corners were cut and the finish is perfect.”
